Man falls approx. 20ft from ladder;dies

TEXAS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A Mattawan man died after falling about 20 feet from a ladder Sunday.

Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department officials told 24 Hour News 8 the 54-year-old man was at Wentzel's Greenhouse, 10325 Stadium Dr. in Texas Township, trimming branches Sunday afternoon.

Around 3:15 p.m., he was on a ladder and after cutting through a rather large branch, he lost his balance and fell.

The victim fell onto a pile of cut wood and pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's name has not been released.
