Pot, heroin, cocaine, guns in 2 raids

KALAMAZOO, Mich.(WOOD) - Kalamazoo County officials conducted two drug raids Friday.

The first raid happened in the 1000 block of Trimble Avenue in the city of Kalamazoo, after officers executed a search warrant.

During the search, a 60-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were located inside the home. Officials found 14 bags of crack cocaine and 27 bags of marijuana. Both of the bags were packaged for sale. Officers also found a loaded shotgun, loaded handgun, digital scales, and packaging equipment, according to a news release.

The 60-year-old Kalamazoo man was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, felon in possession of a firearm, felony firearm, and maintaining a drug house. The suspect is now at the Kalamazoo County Jail.

Charges for the female resident have not yet been sought.

Members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team, and Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Community Outreach and Problem Solving Division (COPS) and Kalamazoo Metro Swat Team were involved in the case.

The second raid was in the 1300 block of Concord Place in Oshtemo Township.

During the search, a 30-year-old man, a 29-year-old woman and a child were located at the scene. Officials found a quantity of heroin with a street value of more than $1,600 as well as digital scales.

The Kalamazoo man was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver heroin and maintaining a drug house. The suspect is now at the Kalamazoo County Jail.

Children's Protective Services came to the scene and removed the child from the home.

There is no further information on the female resident at this time.

Members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team, and Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Community Outreach and Problem Solving Division (COPS) and Operation's Division were involved in the case.
