KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Kalamazoo County says it is seeing what it calls a "sharp" increase in cases of norovirus.
Norovirus causes severe vomiting and diarrhea and can last from one to three days.
Health officials say norovirus has been reported at nursing homes, schools and other areas in the county. Portage Central Elementary School was closed today because of it.
The best way to prevent norovirus is to wash your hands frequently and stay home if you become ill.
