KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Icy roads caused slideoffs and crashes on the west side of Kalamazoo County Monday evening.

Dispatchers told 24 Hour News 8 there were about 50 slideoffs and minor property damage crashes like fender benders between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Among those was a semi-truck that jackknifed on southbound US-131 near the D Avenue exit in Kalamazoo.

Dispatchers received about 150 reports of crashes, they said, but each crash generated multiple calls.

Roads on the west side of the county are very icy, the dispatcher said.

There have not yet been any reports of any serious injuries.
