KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - One of five people arrested during two separate drug busts had narcotics hidden in his buttocks.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers from the Community Outreach Problem Solving Division (COPS) acted on several tips from citizens regarding street level drug dealing.
Officers first conducted a drug investigation in the 800 block of S. Burdick Street on Thursday.
Officers saw someone selling heroin from a vehicle and talked with the occupants. The driver -- a 30-year-old Kalamazoo resident -- was arrested for delivery of heroin.
Police said three passengers were also arrested --
-- A 27-year-old Kalamazoo resident for a parole violation and possession with intent to deliver heroin after he concealed several grams of heroin in his butt crack, according to a news release.
-- A 30-year-old Kalamazoo resident for outstanding warrants
-- An 18-year-old Kalamazoo resident also for a warrant
During a second investigation, officers saw someone wanted on several warrants walking near Douglas Avenue and Ravine Road.
While trying to talk to this person, he ran away from officers and a chase ensued before he was taken into custody.
Police searched the 24-year-old Kalamazoo resident during the arrest and found a fully loaded revolver. He was taken to the jail on charges of outstanding warrants, carrying a concealed weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
