KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - As officers were breaking up a heroin deal, they arrested a passing traffic violator on a Moped who possessed marijuana.
It was Thursday when officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Community Outreach Problem Solving Division (C.O.P.S.) acted on several tips from citizens regarding street level drug dealing.
An investigation began in the 1100 block of Princeton Avenue in Kalamazoo in which officers saw someone selling heroin. The 27-year-old male dealer from Kalamazoo was arrested and charged with delivery of heroin.
While officers were still at the scene, they saw someone riding a Moped committing several traffic violations. Officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered the rider had marijuana concealed in his possession, according to a news release.
The 21-year-old Kalamazoo man was found to be on probation as well. His parole officer was contacted and a probation detainer was obtained for the suspect. The suspect was charged with possession of marijuana.
