KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Police in Kalamazoo continue to search for two men who they say robbed another man in the parking lot of his apartment complex.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers arrived about 12:33 a.m. Thursday to the 1300 block of California Avenue and saw the 23-year-old victim.
The victim said he was walking from his car to his California West Apartment when two people approached him. One of the strangers pointed a silver handgun at him, ordering him to the ground, he said.
The suspects stole the victim's wallet and cellphone and then fled the scene, police said in a news release.
The victim was not injured.
Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area for the suspects but to no avail, as it appears the suspects got into a vehicle and drove away.
Police Thursday afternoon released surveillance photos of one of the suspects -- a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, having a round face and wearing a white hat, black hooded sweatshirt and a black bandana over his face at the time.
The second suspect is only described as a black male who had a black bandanna over his face.
Witnesses are asked to call police at 269.337.8994 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
