PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) - Some relatives of a Portage man are in Japan to help search for the 33-year-old who disappeared on Mount Fuji.

Matt Johnson, who works at Eaton Corporation, left last month for a business trip. He was last seen Jan. 13 and reported missing when he did not show up for work overseas. His car was found parked at the bottom of Mount Fuji.

A Feb. 3 update from Johnson's sister on the Facebook page Please Pray for Matt Johnson said that Johnson's father and brother-in-law took a search party to Tokyo over the weekend to begin searching for Johnson's body.

A Feb. 7 update said that a private search party started searching this early Tuesday evening.

She said two teams of two people will be sent out to search each day. The team plans to search for five days.
