INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A former Warren Central and Western Michigan University football standout was found guilty again of child molesting.
A jury found Mark Bonds Jr. guilty on three counts of child molesting late Wednesday, and not guilty on three other counts. Sentencing is set for Nov. 13.
He had been found guilty in May 2011 , but that verdict was thrown out and he was retried.
Bonds was 23 when he was arrested in September 2010 , accused of raping the 13-year-old daughter of his then-girlfriend. According to police reports, he assaulted the girl and told her he would kill her mother and choke her brother if she told anyone what happened.
Bonds graduated from Warren Central in 2004 and went to Western Michigan University. He was considered one of the top running back prospects in the Midwest in 2003. He became a top all-time rusher at WMU.
