COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A 21-year-old Kalamazoo man is in custody after he allegedly hit a man on a motorized scooter and left the scene Saturday night, police said.
A witness walking along the side of the road called police after the incident happened at 10:39 p.m. in the 6300 block of M-96 in Comstock Township.
Police were able to locate and arrest the suspected driver on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing injury, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and refusing a breathalyzer test.
The victim, 26-year-old Jen West Jr. of Kalamazoo, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a hospital.
