KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Emergency personnel in Kalamazoo rescued a woman from a burning house Monday afternoon.

The fire happened at 2:38 p.m. Monday at a single-family residence in the 2600 block of Glendale Boulevard.

When officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety arrived on scene, neighbors told them that there may have been a woman in the house, from which smoke was seen coming from the roof.

A rescue team entered the residence and found an unconscious 47-year-old woman. They pulled her to safety and she was taken to a Borgess Medical Center, where she is listed in stable condition.

The fire on the first floor of the residence was extinguished as the cause remains undetermined.

Anyone with more information about this incident is asked to call KDPS at 269.337.8120 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
