Driver hurt after crashing into tree

CLIMAX, Mich. (WOOD) - A 25-year-old woman from Vicksburg was injured after she crashed her vehicle into a tree; an accident that police said may have involved alcohol.

The victim was driving west on East R Avenue and she lost control of her vehicle, which then went off the road and struck a tree near 46th Street in Climax early Saturday morning.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and found in the ditch by a passing motorist around 3:25 a.m., according to a news release.

The driver was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo and remains in serious condition.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
