COMSTOCK, Mich. (WOOD) - Three people were arrested in connection with a methamphetamine bust in Kalamazoo County.

Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Community Outreach Problem Solving Division (COPS) conducted the investigation at a residence in the 6100 block of Francis Street in Comstock.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence and executed by the Kalamazoo Metro SWAT team Thursday morning, according to a news release.

While the residence was being secured, components of the meth production began producing a haze in the garage area of the residence, police said. Authorities brought the active meth lab under control.

Authorities searched the residence and found a loaded rifle, suspected meth, ammunition, meth components and discarded meth waste.

Five people were in the residence all claiming to live there.

Of the residents, a 35-year-old man was arrested on three outstanding warrants including a warrant for possession of meth from a previous case; a 23-year-old man was arrested on a warrant for possession of meth; and a 37-year-old man was arrested on a parole absconder warrant.

Additional charges will be requested on several of the occupants, including manufacturing meth, felony firearm, maintaining a drug house, and possession of meth.

If you have more information about this case you are asked to call COPS at 269.337.8880 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
