KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A Kalamazoo Township teen and a bus driver were assaulted on a Comstock school bus Thursday morning, police say.
Around 7:07 a.m., a Comstock Public Schools bus driver stopped in the 2700 block of Texel Drive to pick up a group of students, she told Kalamazoo Township police.
One of the people who boarded the bus had his face covered by a hooded sweatshirt. Because she couldn't identify him, the 44-year-old bus driver asked him to pull the hood down.
Instead, the suspect assaulted a 15-year-old male Comstock High School student on the bus. The bus driver moved to intervene, at which point the suspect punched her in the face and ran away, according to a police news release.
Neither victim was seriously injured.
Kalamazoo Township police say they believe they know who the suspect is, but he has not yet been located. He is thought to be an 18-year-old Kalamazoo Township resident.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Kalamazoo Township Police Department at 269.343.0551 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
