KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - An alert gas station employee helped with the arrest of a burglar at a nearby coffee shop.
The worker at the Rich gas station, 3050 Oakland Dr., in Kalamazoo called 911 after seeing a suspicious man and hearing a loud banging noise coming from the Water Street Coffee Joint across the street.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers arrived at 5:12 a.m. Wednesday at the coffee shop, 3037 Oakland Dr., to investigate.
Officers surrounded the business and saw a broken window. They then heard the suspect moving around inside the business.
Officers entered the coffee shop and arrested the burglar.
The 36-year-old Kalamazoo resident now faces charges of breaking and entering.
