COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - It was determined after two vehicles collided in Kalamazoo County that both drivers broke the law.

A car left the Burger King parking lot in the 5800 block of Gull Road, entered traffic and into the path of an oncoming eastbound pickup truck.

Rescue crews arrived at the scene around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and extricated the car's driver out of the vehicle, according to the sheriff's department.

The 53-year-old Kalamazoo woman was taken to Bronson Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries. Her 21-year-old son was a passenger and not hurt.

A citation for failing to yield is pending against the woman. She told police she did not see the pickup truck before the collision.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 28-year-old Kalamazoo woman, and her two passengers were taken to Borgess Hospital. They suffered non-life threatening injuries. This driver could face driving while license suspended charges.
