BC couple die in Ohio motorcycle crash

VAN WERT, Ohio (WOOD) - A Battle Creek couple is dead after their motorcycle collided with a semi truck in western Ohio Friday night.

Ohio State Highway Patrol tells 24 Hour News 8 that the couple was traveling northbound on Ohio State Route 49 just after 8pm when they crashed into a semi truck going southbound.

Both the driver 56-year-old Samuel Spencer and the passenger 56-year-old Debra Spencer were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say that both motorcycle passengers were wearing helmets.

The semi truck driver has taken to the hospital.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash as they are unclear whether the semi or the motorcycle crossed the center line of the road.
