KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Witnesses helped police track down a teenager accused of assaulting a man found unresponsive lying on a street.
The 17-year-old Kalamazoo male will be charged with assault with intent to murder.
It was 2 p.m. Monday when officers were dispatched to an area near Ada Street and Burrell Avenue in Kalamazoo. They found a 48-year-old man bleeding from the head.
Witnesses told police the suspect struck the victim on the head with a blunt object and fled the scene before the officers arrived.
The victim from Kalamazoo was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital where he is in critical but stable condition.
A suspect was developed through interviews, and detectives located and arrested him, according to a news release.
