KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - More charges are possible against one of the suspects accused in the shooting of a Kalamazoo County deputy during a routine traffic stop Jan. 6.
William Wright may face an extra charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a five-year felony. He was earlier charged with nine felonies including assault with intent to murder, felony firearm, concealed weapon in a vehicle, breaking and entering, arson, unlawful driving away of a vehicle, fleeing and eluding, and two counts of resisting and obstructing. His bond was set at $1 million.
His brother, Christopher, was charged with resisting and obstructing officers -- a two-year felony. His preliminary exam is set for Thursday.
The third person involved, Jessica Carpenter, posted bond and is currently out of jail. She's charged with being an accessory after the fact.
More dashcam videos of the incident were released Wednesday through a Freedom of Information Act request by 24 Hour News 8. In the videos, different angles of the incident are seen, as well as the arrests of Carpenter and William Wright.
