A semi-truck and four passenger vehicles collided on I-94 near Battle Creek. (July 29, 2010)

EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A semi-truck and four passenger vehicles collided near a construction zone along I-94 in Calhoun County late Thursday night.
It happened at 10:13 p.m. about a half mile east of Beadle Lake Road in Emmett Township.
The collision occurred as traffic slowed down due to road construction near Capital Avenue, state police said in a news release.
A 51-year-old Kalamazoo woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown by a medical helicopter to Bronson Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
The woman's 16-year-old daughter was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Several other drivers and passengers, including the 52-year-old semi-truck driver from Ontario, Canada, suffered minor injuries.
