KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - A portion of a road reopened Sunday evening after a water main broke Friday afternoon.
The break happened when a private contractor hit a 10-inch water main near W. Main Street and Turwill Lane in Kalamazoo.
A few nearby customers were without water for a few hours on Friday.
Kalamazoo Public Services Director Bruce Merchant told 24 Hour News 8 the break caused some of the road to buckle. So W. Main Street was closed between Nichols Road and Drake Road so crews could repair the pipe and pavement.
