Video shows deadly party store robbery

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) - Surveillance video shows the short but deadly interaction between a man trying to rob a party store and the clerk who shot him to death.

On Dec. 3, Pardeep Singh was working behind the counter at the Liberty Mart Convenience Store at 439 Capital NE in Battle Creek when Michael Honyoust walked into the store.

Honyoust showed a knife and demanded money, then tried to climb behind the counter. Singh grabbed his gun and shot Honyoust in the head.

Honyoust, 28, died on Dec. 19 from his wounds.

On the advice of his attorney, Singh is not speaking with the media but previously said he was just acting in self-defense.

The prosecutor is still making a determination if Singh will face any charges.
