KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - After more than two decades behind bars for a crime he has always claimed he didn't commit, Thomas Cress is out of prison and now at state prison assessment center in Kalamazoo.
Cress was convicted of killing Patty Rosansky in 1985. She was found dead in a Calhoun County ravine. But he's steadfastly maintained his innocence, and another man admitted killing Rosansky 14 years ago.
That person has never been charged in the case.
Just days before she left office, then-Governor Jennifer Granholm commuted his sentence.
