PRAIRIE RONDE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office is investigating seven reports of suspicious objects placed around Prairie Ronde Township. Officials said that the objects vary in description and their purpose is unknown.
A circular object and an oblong object, both with electrical tape on them, were found in the 14000 block of S. Sixth Street on Oct. 16.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Bomb Squad detonated both objects and said they appeared to contain a material resembling gravel, cement or gunpowder.
Rocks and a walnut were found on Oct. 17 wrapped in electrical tape and placed in mailboxes and other areas visible from the same road, as well as the 15000 block of S. Sixth Street and 8100 block of West XY Avenue; and on Oct. 23 in the 14000 block of S. Fourth Street.
Authorities say a resident spotted teens in a dark-colored SUV parked in the area around the time of the Oct. 16 incident.
If you have any information about these incidents you are asked to call the sheriff's office at 269.383.8748 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
