BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) - Three of the five suspects identified by Battle Creek police in the case of two teens who were tortured, beaten and left in the woods "basically, for dead" are in custody.

One suspect, 21-year-old Nicholas King, was arrested last Friday. Later, Daneko Erskine, 17, was arrested. Then on Tuesday, Letorres Jackson, 22, surrendered and is expected to be arraigned. King and Erskine were already arraigned

Each of the three are charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of torture and two counts of unlawful imprisonment.

But police are still looking for two suspects: Leon Finnie and Britten McNutt, each 22.

The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous, he said, and anyone who sees them should call police.

"It's pretty shocking -- the age group of the people that are doing these things" -- and the reason behind it, the sergeant said. Investigators believe the five beat a 17-year-old and 18-year-old in retaliation for a break-in or another crime.

"I just want to let everybody know to not take justice in their own hands -- to contact the people when situations happen and let us go ahead and handle it," Simons said.
