GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) -- Snowfall that is expected to accumulate quite a bit in the next 24 hours across West Michigan is causing treacherous travel conditions.

Storm Team 8 says the potential total is 6 to 12 inches when all is said and done Wednesday afternoon.

Here are the latest traffic and roads updates:

BAY COUNTY

(AP) -- Shortly before 10 a.m., 70-year-old Roberta Greene of Kalamazoo died after her car lost control on southbound Interstate 75, crossed the median and collided with a semitrailer.

KALAMAZOO COUNTY

-- Westbound I-94 was closed at mile marker 88 near Climax for a three-semi crash, but has reopened as of 6:35 p.m.

At around 3 p.m., there were two semis parked on the side of the road when a third lost control and hit the two in a chain reaction, police said.

One of the drivers was injured and taken to Borgess Hospital, although his condition is unknown. The eastbound lanes of I-94 were backed up as well even though police don't know of any accidents in the area.

-- One lane of westbound I-94 is closed at Westnedge Avenue for a jack-knifed semi. One lane of traffic still is open but moving slowly.

-- Westbound I-94 has been closed at mile marker 87 in Galesburg due to a jackknifed semi-truck. Traffic is being detoured off at the Galesburg/35th Street exit (exit 85).

-- Eastbound drivers are encouraged to stay on I-94. Cars exiting the freeway early are causing backups on local roads.

-- Reports of numerous slide-offs on U.S. 131.

OTTAWA COUNTY

-- A multi-vehicle crash occurred on eastbound I-196 after Chicago Drive (exit 72).

-- Eastbound I-96 at the 21 mile marker is closed due to a semi-truck accident, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department. Drivers are asked to find other routes.

VAN BUREN COUNTY

-- Eastbound I-94 was closed at the M-51 exit (exit 56) due to four jackknifed semi-trucks with a car stuck underneath one of them.

-- Eastbound I-94 at the Mattawan on-ramp was closed due to two jackknifed semi-trucks.
