KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - A Kalamazoo man now faces seven felony charges for allegedly possessing child pornography.
Steven Michael McAllister, 54, was arraigned Thursday on six counts of possession of child sexually abusive material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
Kalamazoo authorities worked with the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
McAllister has been a custodian at Edison Elementary School in Kalamazoo for 20 years, but authorities say they do not believe any victims are from Kalamazoo Public Schools.
McAllister remains in the Kalamazoo County Jail on $500,000 bond.
McAllister has been put on administrative leave pending the outcome of the judicial process, according to the school district.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 269.337.8994 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
