GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Calhoun County prosecutors intend to ask the Michigan Supreme Court to overturn the decision to grant Lorinda Swain a new trial.
Swain, convicted in 2002 for having sexual contact with her adopted son, was granted a new trial in August by Judge Conrad Sindt. She has always maintained her innocence, and the son, Ronnie, recanted his testimony soon after she was convicted.
There is no word at this time when or if the Michigan Supreme Court will hear the appeal by the prosecutors.
