Plainwell teen dies in Oshtemo crash

OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - An 18-year-old Plainwell woman died in an Oshtemo Township crash that injured two other people Monday night.

A westbound pickup truck collided with a northbound Monte Carlo around 11 p.m. at the intersection of Stadium Drive and Fourth Street, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriffs Department.

Zelena Amaro was a passenger in the Monte Carlo and died at the scene.

The driver, 17-year-old Alyssa Stevens of Otsego, suffered serious injuries and taken to Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.

The pickup truck driver -- 71-year-old Tamera Moore of Paw Paw -- was treated at the scene.

No other details are available at this time, as the crash remains under investigation.
