EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Moments after a man slipped a note to a teller demanding money from the American One Federal Credit Union, he ran away and may have gotten into a waiting car near an apartment complex.
Around 10:30 a.m. Monday, the man - described as between his mid-20s and early-30s - walked into the credit union at 530 E. Main Street in Emmett Township. The note he passed to the teller implied he was armed, but no weapon was seen.
He ran away toward the River Oaks Apartments, police said, and a tracking dog was brought to the scene. Investigators believe he ran to a car waiting near those apartments.
No one is in custody. If you have any information, you're asked to contact the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety at 269.968.9303, or Silent Observer at 269.964.3888.
