PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) - A Portage man who suffers from Alzheimer's disease and disappeared Sunday was found safe in Indiana Monday morning.
Indiana State Police located Roland Storteboom around 12:10 a.m. Monday after receiving a call about a suspicious person at a business near Gary, Ind. near Interstate 90. Troopers arrived and determined that person as Storteboom who was unhurt.
The search for Storteboom began around 6:30 p.m. Sunday when the Portage (Mich.) Department of Public Safety alerted the public to help find him after he was last seen driving his SUV.
His family was concerned for his safety because his mental acuity has worsened in recent weeks, according to a news release.
