Man tries to rob gas station twice

GALESBURG, Mich. (WOOD) - After being told no the first time a man tried to rob the same gas station again on the same night.

This all happened last night at the Shell Mart on Miller Drive and 35th Street in Galesburg.

The clerk working at the time says that a man walked into the store and told her that he was going to rob the store.

The clerk told the robber that he was not going to rob the store, he then left.

A short time later the same man returned to the store and this time told the clerk that he had a weapon in his pocket.

The clerk told the man that she had already called the police. He again left the store.

A short time later Kalamazoo County Sheriffs Deputies stopped the vehicle the suspect was driving and arrested him for attempted armed robbery. He was also charged with operating while intoxicated.
