PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Deputies in Calhoun County arrested a man accused of firing a gun at another man.
Authorities were originally called to Oxford Street near Montford Street in Pennfield Township at 11:50 p.m. July 12 to reports of gunshots fired.
When deputies arrived at the scene they learned a man was seen shooting at another man in the street, but could locate neither the victim nor the suspect.
A day later deputies identified the victim who was not hurt in the shooting.
They also learned the name of the man they believed responsible. They searched for him at a known address, but he continued to elude them.
On Sunday around 11:30 a.m., deputies found the 23-year-old suspect at a residence on Highway Street in Battle Creek and arrested him.
The Battle Creek man now faces charges of assault with intent to commit murder, felony firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and being a habitual offender.
He remains lodged in the Calhoun County Jail pending arraignment.
