KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - The owner of the dog who attacked a Kalamazoo postal carrier last week now faces two misdemeanors in connection with the incident.
Letter carrier Laura Blanchard was attacked by the pit bull on June 18 in the 1500 block of Woodrow as she was out on her route.
Blanchard told 24 Hour News 8 that she needed 40 stitches to her face following the attack. She also sustained punctures and bruises to her arms.
It was the second time she'd been attacked by a pit bull in two years.
The dog's owner, Jason McMillon, now faces two misdemeanor citations in connection to the attack, according to Kalamazoo County Animal Control Director Steve Lawrence.
The citations are for a dog running loose and a dog attacking a person.
The dog was euthanized by Animal Control.
