KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Several multiple-vehicle accidents closed westbound I-94 between mile markers 80 and 88, but it re-opened around 1:15 p.m. Friday.
Eastbound I-94 is open, but is snow covered and very slippery. Michigan State Police Sgt. Russell Ammon said there are numerous slideoffs between Watervliet and Galesburg, but no serious injuries.
A detour route was in place. Drivers may want to keep this in mind:
Motorists are advised to use Exit 78 (Portage Road) and Exit 92 (Columbia Avenue) to exit I-94.
Eastbound traffic should follow Kilgore Road/East N Avenue east, 34th Street north, East MN Avenue east and Mercury Drive north to get back onto I-94.
Westbound traffic should follow Mercury Drive south, East MN Avenue west, 34th Street south and East N Avenue west to get back onto I-94.
