FireKeepers, state amend compact

Less revenue to state but more lottery games

LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) - The dice are already rolling between the state of Michigan and the new FireKeepers Casino, as each side is already renegotiating the gaming compact.

Gov. Jennifer Granholm on Monday announced the amendment with the Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians, cutting their revenue share of slot machines from 8% to 4% in exchange for being allowed to expand lottery games like Club Keno.

Other tribes have made similar amendments to their compacts, but pay 6% to the state.
