Cows killed in rollover accident

The driver suffered minor injuries

ALAMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A few cows were killed and a truck driver was injured after a hauler rolled over while exiting a highway.

It was just before 3 a.m. Wednesday when the incident occurred on the East D Avenue exit on northbound U.S. 131 in Alamo Township.

The semi-truck was transporting 32 cattle at the time.

A few cows died from injuries and one had to be put down.

The truck driver suffered minor injuries.

Sheriff's deputies, firefighters and Kalamazoo County Animal Services officials had to track down some of the animals that wandered away following the accident.
