BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) - A Battle Creek man who killed his former roommate in February will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Robert Nelson, 51, was sentenced to 70 to 110 years after being convicted of second-degree murder in October.

John George was found dead of apparent blunt force trauma on Feb. 21.

A 911 caller told dispatchers a friend -- Nelson -- was at his residence and said he had just killed someone. Police then went to the Sharon Avenue home in Pennfield Township and found George's body.

Nelson was arrested shortly thereafter and charged with murder the next day.
