KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - The Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team seized $6,000 dollars worth of cocaine after attempting to conduct a traffic stop Wednesday.
According to officials, a 33-year-old Kalamazoo resident fled from officers by speeding in reverse through a parking lot in the 3000 block of S. Westnedge Avenue.
The driver then collided with an unmarked police car that was pulling into the same parking lot, and then also crashed into the cruiser that originally conducted the traffic stop.
After that, the driver gave up and was placed under arrest.
Officials said they found a large sum of money in his vehicle, and a large quantity of powder cocaine and crack cocaine with a value of well over $6,000.
The driver was taken to Kalamazoo County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, possession with intent to deliver crack and powder cocaine and malicious destruction of police property.
