KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Kalamazoo authorities are working to clean up several hundred gallons of overflow from a sanitary sewer.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety was notified on Friday that a sanitary sewer was overflowing from a manhole in the 1700 block of Kilgore Road.
About 500 gallons of sewage was discharged from the overflow, KDPS said.
The Department of Public Services cleared a blockage from a manhole within two hours of receiving the report of the overflow.
They are working with the property owner to restore the land.
The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Department were notified of the overflow, which is required by law.
