KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Two people are in custody and a third is being sought in connection with a January sexual assault, kidnapping, home invasion and robbery case in Kalamazoo Township
The crime occurred Jan. 22 at Big Bend Apartments, 2220 Gull Road, police said.
The female victim was eventually dropped off at an emergency care center in Watervliet, according to a news release from Michigan State Police.
Two of the three suspects, Danny Vinson and LaFunta Summers, have been arrested and are awaiting preliminary hearings. Vinson is the victim's ex-boyfriend.
Police said Curtis Wayne Hankton of Benton Harbor -- the third suspect -- is considered dangerous and might be armed.
"We believe he was involved possibly in a shooting with Kalamazoo Public Safety a few days prior to this incident," said Michigan State Police Det. Sgt. Kevin Conklin.
Hankton is described as a 21-year-old black male, about 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 260 pounds. He goes by the street name "Big Curt."
There is a four-count felony warrant for Hankton's arrest, as well as an additional warrant for an unrelated matter.
If you have seen Hankton, call Michigan State Police at 269.657.5551, or Michiana Crime Stoppers at 800.342.STOP (7867) or 574.288.STOP (7867).
