GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A 52-year-old Barry County woman is the third confirmed case of Eastern Equine Encephalitis this summer.
The disease, which travels through mosquitoes and usually affects horses, already infected a 61-year-old and a 41-year-old, both from Kalamazoo County.
All three people are recovering.
These are the first human cases reported in Michigan since 2002.
