BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) - Calhoun County Sheriff's detectives have identified a second suspect in the murder of Larry Denniston.
Denniston, 63, was found dead in the woods in Branch County on Sunday.
The Branch County Sheriff's Department contacted the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office about the murder, which authorities say was committed at a residence in Calhoun County's Marengo Township.
Lauren O'Melay, 64, was arrested on murder charges not long after the body was found.
O'Melay and Denniston co-owned the rural Marengo Township property and were distantly related.
The suspect, Dennis Eugene Shepherd, 50, from Bellevue, was arraigned on charges of being an accessory after the fact for the crime of murder and is being held at the Calhoun County Correctional Facility, according to the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office.
Denniston was also from Bellevue but lived in California.
