KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - The second of two suspects involved in a dog-fighting ring in Kalamazoo County has been sentenced.

Kelvin Thomas was sentenced Monday to two days in jail, two years of probation, 160 hours of community service, and has to pay a $500 fine after pleading guilty to two counts of possessing fighting animals and/or equipment.

He was arrested in August, along with Leonard Turner, who was sentenced in November to 45 days in jail, three years on probation and can't own any dogs or animals.

Fourteen dogs were removed from Turner's home at 321 Darling St. in Kalamazoo Township.

Thirty-four other dogs were removed from a home on KL Avenue between Seventh Street and Ninth Street in Oshtemo Township.
