ALBION TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A 2-year-old boy and his dad were injured after their dirt bike collided with a four-wheeler driven by the child's grandfather.
No one was wearing helmets, police said in a news release.
Calhoun County sheriff's officials were called at 12:30 p.m. Sunday to the crash near D Drive South and Hill Road in Albion Township.
A 47-year-old Albion man and his 29-year-old Battle Creek man were both traveling east.
Authorities said a 47-year-old Albion man was eastbound on his ATV and crashed into his 29-year-old Battle Creek son who was also eastbound.
The collision caused the 29-year-old to lose control of the dirt bike. He and his toddler son were thrown from the bike.
The 29-year-old man suffered injuries and was transported to Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. His 2-year-old sonĀ suffered serious injuries and taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
The accident remains under investigation by the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department Accident Reconstruction Team. Authorities said the names of the people involved are being withheld since criminal charges could be filed.
