IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) - On the night involving lots of candy, an Ionia mother discovered a trick among her daughter's bag of treats.
An Ionia Department of Public Safety officer tells 24 Hour News 8 a small amount of marijuana was found in a 4-year-old's trick-or-treat bag Wednesday night.
The child's parents called authorities after discovering about a gram of marijuana wrapped in a cellophane wrapper.
The parents were not able to give a clear description on who may have handed out the marijuana to the child, but told DPS they were trick-or-treating on the city’s eastside.
Officers say there were too many fingerprints on the wrapper to get a clear set of prints to check on.
Ionia DPS commended the mother for checking her daughter’s bag of treats when they arrived home Halloween night.
