IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) - A man is in jail accused of "accessing and compromising" a woman's checking account while she was battling a serious illness.
Detectives with the Ionia County Sheriff's Office on Oct. 25 began a joint investigation with the Lowell Police Department to investigate a fraud complaint from the 72-year-old Lowell victim, according to a news release.
Five days later, the suspect -- James Arthur Lowe of Muir -- was arrested for larceny from a building stemming from Lowell, as well as four counts of uttering and publishing, and felon in possession of a firearm in Ionia County.
