GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A 27-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday, a month after he went off an Ionia County road and overturned several times.
Just before 8 p.m. on March 20, Jonathan Nielan was driving his Yamaha motorcycle on W. Riverside Drive near Ainsworth Road in Berlin Township. Police said at that time he crossed the center line, went off the road, into a ditch and flipped over several times.
He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Investigators said speed was a contributing factor.
He was taken to Spectrum Butterworth for treatment. He never recovered.
