IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) - In an Ionia County courtroom, Krag Sanford on Tuesday pleaded no contest to two counts of distribution of sexually explicit visual or verbal matter to a child, one day after pleading no contest to accosting a minor for immoral purposes in Kent County.

The former Saranac High School teacher allegedly had an affair with a female student, who was 16 at the time, which police said started in summer 2010. The student has said she is about nine weeks pregnant with Sanford's child. The two filed for a marriage license in March.

As part of the plea agreement Sanford is required to give up his teaching certificate and register as a sex offender. Sanford said in court he has already handed over his teaching license. The court accepted the plea.

Sanford's attorney would not comment after the hearing but did say it went as expected.

The plea has the same requirements as the plea deal Sanford signed in the Kent County Courthouse on Monday. He agreed to plead no contest to felony accosting a minor for immoral purposes.

No date has been set yet for his sentencing in Ionia County. The Ionia County sentence will run concurrently with his sentence in Kent County.

The prosecution will not object to Sanford possibly serving his sentence in Kent County.
