FREEPORT, Mich. (WOOD) - A fire destroyed an Ionia County garage on Sunday morning.

The fire started at about 10 a.m. at 11153 Furlong Road in Freeport.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, the garage was already fully engulfed in flame.

The fire began to spread toward nearby homes. Heat melted the siding of two of the homes, but firefighters were able to get the blaze under control before any other structures caught fire.

The garage, however, was completely destroyed.

Three fire departments responded to the fire. No one was hurt and emergency personnel cleared the scene at about 11:40 a.m.
